Lesson of the Day!

Let me begin by stating that last month or maybe even Halloween, we taught Morgan about "Stranger Danger," not going with anyone you don't know, screaming if someone tries to take you with them...etc.

Last night Morgan told Daddy how scared she was that someone was going to take her from school, and she didn't want to hurt her friends ears. After much talk and recovery last night, Morgan was fine this morning...had a great morning being a kid...games, coloring, a little television.

Mommy (myself) talked with Gamma who suggested that we teach Morgan how to use the phone, answer it, and call 911 in case of an emergency. So, I had the time to do it today and we went ahead.

Low and behold a couple of short hours later, Morgan decided to give it a try...she called 911. (Her second time...first was when she was 2 and was just pressing a bunch of numbers on an old cell phone Papa gave her...note to all...it will still work if you call 911!!!).

So, Mommy told them sorry, my 4 year old just learned how to dial in case of emergency, and apparently she tested it out. Well, if that wasn't enough, about 5 minutes later...Dedham Police arrived at our door!

They have to follow-up with every 911 phone call. Morgan was very shy and embarrassed, but nonetheless, a good lesson, I suppose. The police officer could not have been more kind or understanding...so nice! She was scared the policeman was going to take her to jail for not being a "good listener" but I reassured her that policemen were nice and there are here to keep her safe!

Lesson learned...I hope!!
